Meet us at the SAP-Centric EAM Event from March 9, 2015 to March 11, 2015 at Hyatt Regency, Huntington Beach, CA.
LARRY HARBUCK (Client Services Manager, IT, Kaneka North America) and ALOK PANT (CEO, Unvired, Inc) will be speaking on The Digital Plant: Getting the Job Done with Mobility at Kaneka on Tuesday, March 10, 2015, Track 3 at 12:55 p.m. (Conference Day 2).
Abstract: At Kaneka, the business challenge we faced was a disconnected paper based manufacturing plant, and we wanted to transform our asset/equipment management by Enabling our Vision for the Mobile Plant. We solved it by creating the Digital connected plant using Mobile applications. Mobile apps for Equipment Rounds Management, Work Orders, and Warehouse/Inventory processes were deployed on iPads. Data from SAP Plant Maintenance, SAP Materials Management and Microsoft SharePoint is presented on Kaneka workers’ iPads to execute Work Orders, Rounds/Equipment Inspections, record compliance documents, create notifications, check Inventory levels and count physical inventory. We will discuss the business benefits to Kaneka as well as the learnings from the challenges overcome. The Business Case for Mobility and Return on Investment (ROI) considerations will also be covered. We will discuss the mobile app lifecycle including development, testing, deployment, and support. A cost effective and rapid approach to deploying mobile apps will be a key learning point.
1.) More effective preventive and corrective maintenance
2.) Enhanced compliance with digital maintenance records
3.) Increased collaboration and eliminated paper based manual processes
